Read what others have to say about creating a life for their adult with ASD. The Katydid Foundation hopes this feature will encourage families from all over the globe to share their stories – both successes and failures at building a life for their loved ones with autism and related disorders.

Both communication formats will focus on adults housing, funding, and resources for adults on the autism spectrum. If you have broken through the bureaucratic barrier or discovered a system that works, please share it with our families.

Anita Perkins,  founder of Katydid Foundation Inc. and parent of two adults on the spectrum, will moderate the blog and message board.

to go from school counselor to case
worker to psychologist for advice and recommendations about my son. Basically, my answers came from within. A parent who knows her son's behaviors and motivations is the best resource. However, a sounding board, support group or a central 'go-to' organization is a terrific resource. When you are talking about adults with disabilities, other parents, respected experts in this ever expanding field, and various states' models can be extremely helpful as well as comforting to us as parents. I am looking forward to viewing this Web site as a clearinghouse with just these possibilities."
